Visit the Dinosaurs at Bozeman Montana's Museum of the Rockies!
This summer we stayed in Bozeman for a few days to attend a training class for TopProducer. While we were in Bozeman, we took my 7-year old nephew to the Museum of the Rockies.
The museum features exhibits on Native American culture and artifacts, a Western history collection, outdoor exhibits, and is best known for its Paleontology exhibits. The museum's dinosaur complex is impressive and is a major stop on Montana's Dinosaur Trail - a tour of Montana's rich paleontological findings.
Home to one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils in the world, the Museum of the Rockies houses the world's largest T. rex skull and one of the first identified female dinosaurs in the world - an ovulating T. rex.
The Museum of the Rockies also has a Planetarium with several shows daily. For more information on the Museum of the Rockies, visit their website.

Paleontology is absolutely fascinating to me. I'm an unabashed Dinosaur lore lover . . . I was inspired to visit Colorado after reading James Michener's fabulous "Centennial".
Beautiful country. I later visited the Wyoming/Montana area from Thermopolis up The Bear Tooth into Montana. Absolutely beautiful. All inspired by a book.
Thanks for sharing. Would love to visit the area! Have a great day.
Hi Kevin and Monica, I know I flew into Bozeman to go to a national park. Is it near Yellowstone? I don't think I went to this musuem though. I will have to go to the museum the next time I'm there.
Kevin,
Never heard of this place..Thanks! One of these summers I need to get my daughters up there. I have a buddy that lives in Billings and I really need to get up there and show that part of the country to my girls
Thanks again

The museum sounds like a great public asset; fun and educational. Congratulations on being featured. It doesn't seem like too many local/regional posts get that honor.
Lenn - that's awesome. We used to live in Colorado so we visited some of the same places from Centennial.
Thanks Roy, it's worth the trip!
Hi Liz - Bozeman is near Yellowstone. We work in Missoula which is a few hours from Bozeman but love to visit each year.
Paul - Montana is amazing, Billings has a different landscape than Bozeman and Missoula but is still breathtaking.
Thanks Scott, the museum is a great asset to the community.
We went to a dinosaur museum when our son was about six. It was great but he was mad because the thought the T-Rex would be bigger!
Kevin and Monica, I've been to the National Museum in Washington DC, and would love to visit the Museum of the Rockies. On my list of places to visit. I am sure your nephew had a great time at the museum.
Been here, and my son loved it. I did too. And I love Bozeman! Nice post.
OK OK OK... Yet another great destination to see in Montana is now on my list thanks to you guys!
Wish I had known about this place when my son was younger... he was a HUGE dinosaur fan! Actually I think he still is.. I will send him this information - thanks for the post!
Look like an interesting and fun place to visit.

What a great post. Thank you!
Congratulations on the feature post! We recently had a dinosaur exhibit at the Celveland Metro Parks zoo. My kids 15 and 20 and I visited the zoo in September when asked do you want to see the dinosaurs, they said "really", so I missed it!
Kristin
The museum sounds great! Might have to add it to the list of places I want to go on a road trip!
Kevin & Monica, How cool! I think any one in ANY age would love this museum....we all like to see our "ancestors" :)
Thanks for sharing your story it sounds like you had a great time.
sounds pretty neat. i would have loved this as a kid. this isn't the dinosaur museum that shows people riding the dinos is it? i wonder where that one is at...
Looks like a fun place makes me think of our Nature Museum here in Ottawa which I should blog about one of these days.
This looks like great fun for kids -- good Localism post.
Thank you for all of your comments! We hope you are able to visit our area some time and enjoy the museum too :)
